NASA eClips™ is recognized as one of the "best solar system digital resources from both NSTA Learning Center and NASA's educational websites" by Science Scope, the magazine for middle school teachers published by the National Association of Science Teachers. The article, entitled, "Science Teachers, We Have Digital Academic Liftoff," includes NASA eClips™ as an example of wonderful, grade-appropriate, real-world inquiry lessons. A rubric, designed by the Council for State Science Supervisors (CSSS) and grounded in research, was used to measure the level of inquiry in the NASA web sites prior to identifying the resources that should be highlighted. The resources included in the article serve as the foundation for the new NSTA/NASA Short Course in Astronomy. NSTA recognizes the importance of a strong understanding of science content, but identifies the delivery of the content as equally important. The short course was designed to help educators improve both the science content and process skills using creative, accurate resources. NASA eClips™ video segments and educator resources are written and produced by the National Institute of Aerospace.
