Collaborations 

 

The CISE educators and production team work with NASA to develop educator resources, support teachers through virtual tools, and bring NASA learning experiences to pre- and in-service teachers.


The CISE educators developed NASA eClips videos and SpaceMath@NASA problems in collaboration with JPL to highlight the Year of the Solar System.

 

CISE Educators work closely with VASC educators to design and implement teacher professional development experiences.

CISE Educators collaborate with the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) to inform each organization's work. 

CISE Educators have supported AIAA STEM K-12 Outreach in the development of Engineers as Educators, professional development for engineers to volunteer in classrooms.

The CISE production team has collaborated with NOAA to develop educational videos.


The CISE production team collaborated with ONR to develop a series of STEM Career Clips.

CISE and the National Science Teachers Association have collaborated on pre-service and in-service teacher opportunities.  CISE Educators in Residence frequently present at regional and national NSTA conferences.


CISE Educators worked with UVA and LearniT-TeachiT to develop four online graduate courses, 21eTeacher.  These courses help teachers effectively integrate technology into their instruction.


CISE has collaborated with McDaniel College to develop a series of five graduate courses on elementary STEM Education that leads to a certificate.


CISE and Arlington Public Schools work collaboratively to disseminate STEM-based resources and offer in-service teacher professional development.

CISE and Virginia Beach City Public Schools jointly support a CISE Educator in Residence.  CISE and VBCPS also collaborate to write and implement state and federal grants and develop educator resources.

CISE and Hampton City Schools support a CISE Educator in Residence.  This dual placement builds a bridge between HCS and the STEM-workforce.

CISE and Newport News Public Schools support a CISE Educator in Residence.  This dual placement builds a bridge between NNPS and the STEM-workforce.

CISE, McDaniel College and Carroll County Public Schools have partnered to pilot five graduate courses leading to a certificate in elementary STEM education.

CISE and the Virginia Department of Education collaborate to run the VA Summer Residential Governor’s School.


CISE and USA TODAY have collaborated to run national design challenges and student competitions.

 

CISE director Shelley Spears sits on the Triangle Coalition for STEM Education Board of Directors helping to govern decisions made by this organization concerned with improving STEM education in the US.

 

 

CISE was a foundational partner with the Conrad Foundation.  The Conrad foundation supports the Spirit of Innovation Challenge. 

 



 


The CISE team collaborates with school districts, science centers and museums, after school programs, industry, and government organizations to meet unique education objectives. The CISE educators, production team, and program managers develop educational resources and manage workshops, roundtables, and conferences.
